Description
The ancient Gnostic God Abraxas is found in Hermann Hesse’s Demian, a novel probing the concept of self-knowledge. A bird, as soul, fights its way out of its shell and flies to Abraxas, a god of both light and dark. The soul must first destroy a world in order to be born.
